Can I combine acrylics and oils on the same painting?

I have seen some painters using acrylics and oils on the same painting. Is there any rules for that? I attempt to use acrylics on my oil painting as fluorescent oils are not available at art stores around here. Instead, we have fluorescent acrylics.
