What do you think of states amending the "no child left behind" ?

NCLB is a dismal failure. It is odd that we would force our teachers to spend clroom instruction time studying for one specific test that has nothing to do with the instruction for that cl subject. It is also odd, given the deep south's terrible school situations, that we would be denied....but I am hopeful for the fall. Our students are 'learning' in some of the poorest communities in the nation, with failing schools, crumbling clrooms, sewage leakages into the schools, and laid off teachers. Unfortunately, South Carolina leaders only care about the 2012 elections....not the long term educational goals of our own children.
