What does this poem mean? Easy 10 points?

Sounds to me like a woman who accidently cut off a chunk of her thumb while cooking Thanksgiving dinner. She looked at the blood and wiped it on her white apron. If I'm right it's pretty funny if wrong I guess I'm the turkey.
